"Mr. President, What Took You So Long?"

Anne Leary linked a new RNC ad on her blog and in response to a great post by Sherry Antonetti over at Potluck.  Sherry had a few things to say after reading Obama's speech.   Here is a sample:
Remember the miles of boom offered early on, sitting in warehouses in Maine? It’s still there. Again, we don’t know why.

Raise your hand if you remember the Governors and legislators of Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida and Alabama were all begging for the Federal government to lift restrictions which they had not so that the states could act. Me. I remember that.

Those national guards that the Federal government mobilized? They’re hampered by the lack of a chain of command. So far only 1400 of the 17,500 authorized have been engaged. Why? The Coastguard and BP have to okay the missions. So because there are bureaucratic layers, the mess sits and the resources both causing the problem and capable of solving it, lay idle, wasting.

Now. Raise your hand if you remember Ken Salazar doing anything.

What? No hands?

Name three things you remember the President did do since April 20th.

Bet they weren’t 1) meet with BP 2) authorize personnel and equipment for the Gulf 3) mobilize the American people to help deal with the crisis.

Bet they were 1) Vacation in Chicago or North Carolina, 2) Golf and 3) Party with Sir Paul.
From Sherry's keyboard to the RNC's ears - so to speak - here is the ad:

RNC Pranks DNC

Is your refrigerator running?

The latest DNC effort to paint anyone who doesn't support ObamaCare as a crazy right wing loon has hit a hitch. The Angry Mob ad directs people to call the RNC and voice their concern, not that those phone calls would be manufactured outrage or anything. Just sayin... Anyway when calls came into the RNC callers were asked to press 1 if they are calling to express their concern about the DNC charges. The calls were then routed to the DNC. Glad to see the RNC is getting it's game on.

UPDATE: VIA CNN
The ironic DNC response:

"The RNC is inciting angry mobs to shout out legitimate discussion at public events across the country and now they want to ignore people who deplore their tactics," Woodhouse said. "Republicans don't want to have a discussion about the future of health care reform – they want to shout out – and now completely ignore – anyone who disagrees with them.
Wait is the time for talk over or not? The comment that Republicans want to ignore anyone who disagrees with them is the icing on the cake though.

RNC Ad Targets 60 Vulnerable Dems in 2010

Via CQ Politics the ad is scheduled to run in 33 states and will target Democratic members of the House considered to be at least somewhat vulnerable in 2010 midterms elections. Despite CQ Politics listing 41 of the 60 Dems targeted at least somewhat vulnerable, it's worth taking a look at their early shapeup of the 2010 House elections. It doesn't appear CQ Politics views any of the 60 vulnerable as they have projected a three seat pickup for the Dems in the House. While I won't suggest the GOP is a shoe in to take back the House, I am a bit more optimistic than the folks at CQ.
