John Stewart Shames MSM - ACORN Cracks

John Stewart lays into the media for being beaten on an explosive expose by a couple of ambitious of "kids from the cast of High School Musical 3." This entire 6 minutes is a non-stop shamefest for the main stream media and Acorn:

I guess it takes The Daily Show to turn up the heat to get Acorn to crack. Well, sort of anyway:

The actions were taken, she said, "as a result of indefensible action of a handful of our employees."

Videos of ACORN workers giving tax advice to people posing as prostitutes and other revelations have led to growing criticism of the organization in recent days.

Lewis continued: "We have all been deeply disturbed by what weve seen in some of these videos. I must say, on behalf of ACORN's Board and our Advisory Council, that we will go to whatever lengths necessary to reestablish the public trust. For nearly forty years, ACORN has given voice to communities, and gotten results. Right now, our nearly 500,000 member are working their hearts out for quality, affordable healthcare for every American and to help stop the foreclosure crisis. We must get this process right, so the good work can go forward."

While it is a step in the right direction that ACORN dropped the lame excuses and start acknowledging there are problems at ACORN, clearly they need to stop pretending this is a handful of employees. We've seen the same insanity in at least four offices with more likely to come. Giles and O'Keefe didn't zone in on the only four offices or the key problematic employees by chance. ACORN can start to reestablish the public trust on their own dime; the days of Federal funding for this group are over.
